A Bit About Dr. Catherine’s Past: Dr. Catherine W. Njogu was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya. After finishing high school, she came to the United States in 1995 to pursue her undergraduate degree at St. Catherine University. She graduated from St. Catherine University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with concentrations in pre-medicine and pre-pharmacy. While working for a research and development company, Dr. Catherine was not exposed to Chiropractic until 2002, when she began receiving chiropractic treatments for neck, back and lower back pain symptoms. Her life changing experience of receiving Chiropractic treatment as a patient led her to pursue the Chiropractic profession at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN in the Fall of 2005.
A Bit About Dr. Catherine and Her Family: During her free time, Dr. Catherine enjoys spending quality time with her 3 sisters: Christina, Carol and Connie, her 3 cousins: Marie-Anne, Jocelyn and Charlotte, her 2 nephews: PJ and Adrian, and nieces Makena and Lulu, all who live in the Greater Metro area of the Twin Cities. She also enjoys reading books, singing, laughing, socializing, dancing, traveling, cooking, and trying new hobbies that interest her. To keep in touch with her family members in Kenya, Dr. Catherine enjoys talking to her parents and relatives on a weekly basis. She has traveled to Panama, Costa Rica, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom to visit childhood friends, as well as to Kenya to visit her parents and relatives.
A Bit About Dr. Catherine’s Education: Dr. Catherine graduated from Northwestern in April 2009. Dr. Catherine received numerous awards for student leadership as the president of Northwestern Women In Health Club, Vice President of the Diversity Club, Treasurer of Club Mariposa, Student Class representative of Student Senate, and Student Representative of the Diversity Commission. She was represented in the 2006-2007 edition of the National Dean’s list and was the recipient of the Diversity Student Leadership Scholarship for the year of 2008-2009 for outstanding leadership in her community. She was a student doctor in Costa Rica, Central America, treating patients in the San Ramon, Trés Rios and Guararía communities in the month of February 2009, which was life changing and unforgettable. Dr. Catherine is Board Certified by The National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and licensed by the State of Minnesota in Chiropractic and Physiologic Therapeutics. She is certified in Graston Technique, a
soft tissue mobilization technique as of 2016. Dr. Catherine was nominated Top doctor recipient award from Find A Top Doctor in 2019 and 2020. Dr. Catherine has a wealth of clinical experience in the past 11 years, stemming from being in private practice for 4 years, working at Health Partners for over 4 years to contracting with chiropractic practices in the Twin Cities for over 3 years. While in private practice, she was a community educator in Chiropractic health and wellness and gave an array of health awareness lectures to community members in Bloomington and Saint Paul.
